License, Copyright, Fee
Last updated
All content in Life Science Alliance is published as open access with a CC-BY license. Copyright is retained by the author(s).
The publication fee is $3750 USD. Authors experiencing financial hardship, such as temporary loss of funding, should inform LSA’s Finance Department by emailing payments@life-science-alliance.org after submitting their manuscript. Responses are usually made within 5 business days. Inability to pay the full fee will not influence a submission's outcome. Authors should not communicate with journal editors on financial issues: publication decisions are based solely on editorial criteria and information concerning financial circumstances is not disclosed to journal editors or reviewers. Financial requests made after acceptance of a paper cannot be considered.
Life Science Alliance is unable to process cancellations, refunds, or returns of open-access fees after publication.
In addition to immediate open access, the following are included with the fee:
- Supplemental material, including inline videos
- Figure-related source data
- Rapid publication
- Deposit in PubMed Central (PMC) and mirrored in PMC international sites
- Archive in LOCKSS/CLOCKSS
