Putative protein structure of two neuronally expressed Fc-IgM proteins. In immune cells, the Ighm gene encodes the constant (Fc) part of IgM antibodies. Scheurer et al. now provide evidence for an expression of Ighm derived proteins in neurons of the mouse CNS.
