Acceptance & Publication
Last updated
Before acceptance and transfer to our publishers, manuscripts will be checked for appropriate formatting and image processing, and for plagiarism. We cannot proceed to acceptance until data are available in public databases when required.
Speed of publication
Life Science Alliance aims for rapid publication of papers, usually within 15 to 20 working days. Life Science Alliance's articles are freely accessible to all and are deposited immediately upon publication to the Open Access repository PubMed Central/Europe PubMed Central. Life Science Alliance is a member of the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Proofs
Authors will be sent an e-mail with a link to access and annotate their proof. It is the authors’ responsibility to check that the final proof is accurate. In the interests of speed, corrections should be submitted within 24 hours. If you have any trouble submitting corrections through the system, please contact the production office immediately. Essential changes of an extensive nature may be made only by insertion of a ‘Note added in proof’, and only with the approval of the Editors. Excessive alterations may delay publication of the article.
Press Embargo
When discussing unpublished data (including data in accepted papers not yet published) with the press, authors should take care not to break Life Science Alliance embargo policy.
Fee, License, Copyright
Life Science Alliance levies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD $3000 for each Research Article accepted for publication. There are no additional costs. Ability to pay the fee will not affect the publication of your manuscript. If you are experiencing financial hardship please contact us for more information.
We will waive or discount charges for corresponding authors working in countries covered by the Research4Life Initiative.
